Doctor Joiner Retires

After 38.5 years of serving our clients and patients here at Animal Medical Clinic, Dr. Joiner has announced his retirement as of December 1, 2022.

Dr. Joiner has lived in Melbourne since he was in the second grade. He grew up around the Animal Medical Clinic, as his father, Dr. Charles Joiner, was one of the founders of AMC. He graduated from Melbourne High School in 1977. He attended Brevard Community College and then the University of Florida for his undergraduate work in Animal Science. He graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984 and returned home to Animal Medical Clinic.

It just always seemed right to be a veterinarian and no other profession was ever really considered. He credits his father with teaching him a lot of the technical and communication skills that he has used during his profession.

Dr. Joiner met his wife, Audrey, while in veterinary school at UF, now married 40 years come April 2023. Their children, Austin and Chelsey now have children of their own and reside in North Florida where Dr. Joiner and his wife plan to adventure to.

Dr. Joiner has been a huge influence at AMC, both in his compassionate care for his patients and the outstanding surgical and dental work that he has done over the years.  We will miss Dr. Joiner’s daily presence at the clinic, although he promises to stop in now and then to check in on us.  Even though we will miss him, we are very happy for him and wish him the best.  He has certainly earned it!
