From January 19-21, Dr. Thomson attended the VMX (Veterinary Meeting and Expo) in Orlando. This is an international annual meeting with veterinarians from all over the world attending. There was approximately 17,000 veterinarians who attended this year’s VMX! Dr. Thomson spent a day in lectures on GI issues such as pancreatitis, cholangitis and inflammatory bowel disease. He learned some more about feline lymphoma, probiotics, geriatric cats, I.V. fluid therapy and lung ultrasound. He also spent a day in lectures on one of his favorite subjects, Cardiology. New insights and treatments were discussed on congestive heart failure, dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and a variety of arrhythmias.
“It was a very busy meeting and I look forward to going every year, but I’m glad to be back putting what I’ve learned into practice.”
