Introducing Dr. Taryn Tolle

Dr. Tolle was born and raised in Brevard County, living primarily in Grant. Her grandfather started Bay Street Pharmacy in Sebastian and her parents now own and run it as second generation owners.    She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since childhood, and she is happy to be back on the Space Coast with her family.

“I was the kid that wasn’t afraid of any animal. I enjoyed catching lizards, frogs, and small fish in my backyard and I frequently asked my father to catch snakes for me if I found them. I also inherited my love for cats from my grandfather, who has cared for a colony of feral cats on his property for the last 50 years.”

Dr. Tolle is a double Gator. She graduated from the University of Florida with her BS in Chemistry, and four years later graduated in the top of her class from the UF College of Veterinary Medicine with her DVM.  She also has a certificate in Shelter Medicine. While in veterinary school, Dr. Tolle spent many hours in animal shelters and with Operation Catnip learning how to care for the special needs of shelter animals and community cats. She also completed an externship with Animal Medical Clinic as part of her education.

“Veterinary medicine is both fun and challenging, because every day is different! In particular, I enjoy soft tissue surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, and feline medicine. I look forward to building long-term relationships with clients and their pets, watching them grow up from puppies and kittens and caring for them for their whole life. My childhood animals were patients of Animal Medical Clinic and I watched the relationship that Drs. Godwin and Joiner developed with them, so I am excited to now have that opportunity.”

Dr. Tolle lives in Melbourne with her mischievous cat Domino. “If you asked Domino, she would say I never feed her, although she is fed on a regular basis. I had to install child-proof locks to keep her out of my pantry.”  She is an active member of her church and is looking for more ways to give back to her community. When she isn’t working, you can find her biking, kayaking, crocheting, or on the beach with a good book.
